With headlines coming left and right about our Russian striker wanting first team opportunity somewhere else, one must ask themselves, should he go?

It’s more than understandable that a National team player would want more playing time, and with news that Roma are interested, I’m sure he’s more than tempted to leave. I personally like the player and would love to see him come of the bench more often. I think if Spurs (knock on wood) get into the champions league then having a player like Pav would be great for striker rotation.

Now that being said, how can you deny that Defoe, Crouch, and Keane are all ahead of him in the pecking order? I think that Harry is right to put the players who score goals out in the thick of things. I just feel that Pav should more of a chance to prove he can be right up there with the rest of them (a certain Mexican international we have on board falls into this same category).

I am currently on the fence on this argument, and could go either way. I like the player and would love to see him stick around and help out Spurs, but simultaneously, I can’t blame him for wanting more time on the field.

So I pose this question, Should Pav leave in January? or should he stick around and try to force his way into our first team?

You decide…

I know it’s been awhile since i last posted so let’s sum it up. We beat Everton in the Carling cup, Lost to the Arse, then beat Mr.Bent and the rest of Sunderland. There all caught up. Again i apologize about lack of posting as work obligates me to be busy on Saturdays. Not anymore though!

Tottenham have made there way even on points with Arsenal and are currently sitting safely in the champions league spot. As long as we keep this good form up, and perform like we did today, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Well not the ideal result at home to Stoke, but I’ve got to hand it to Simonsen for a great game in goal for the Potters. The game had a few good chances but it never really worked out for us.

This game saw the return of Jonathan Woodgate and sadly it only lasted 14 minutes before he took a boot to the head. Michael Dawson made his season debut as well coming in for Woodgate after his injury. We also lost Aaron Lennon to injury for the last 10 minutes of the game, as Harry had used all 3 subs by that time.

Our line up was pretty standard with the exception of Crouch and Keane starting together up front. As we were without Jermain Defoe due to the red card away at Pompey last week. This also gave out of favor striker Roman Pavlyuchenko a substitute appearance, who came on late in place of Robbie Keane.

We play Everton next in the Carling Cup, and with their dip in form lately I’d say that we’ve just got to play like we know we can and we should be able to get a result. Then after that we play the Arse away on Halloween weekend, so it’s sure to be a tough couple of games ahead.

Until next time…

Since My last post we drew away to Bolton, and then won away at Portsmouth. Both obviously important points in our bid to secure our place in the top 4. We currently sit third right behind Chelsea and Man Utd, with the Arse and Mancity hot on our trail.

We play Stoke city this weekend and it should be more than within our reach to take all 3 points.

Today saw us play Premier league new boys Burnley and demolished them 5-0. We also saw Niko Kranjcar have his debut start for Spurs, which was a good move by Harry I think. Robbie Keane got the start over an in form Peter Crouch, and quite honestly after the game went on I wasn’t as upset considering he got 4 goals on the day. Along with Jermaine Jenas grabbing the other goal.

We play Bolton next week so hopefully we can keep this momentum going.

The transfer window has finally slammed shut(thank god) and Spurs were able to sneak one last transfer in the form of Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar. Kranjcar joins us from Portsmouth obviously, where he and Harry used to work together. With news that Niko was not looking to renew his contract when it ran out at the end of the season, Paul Hart decided to get some cash for him while he still could. With the fee reportedly in the region of 2.5 million I’d say it was a good bit of business for us.

Obviously this transfer came about after learning Luka Modric would be out with a fractured leg for 6 to 8 weeks. His fellow countrymen Kranjcar has a strong left foot and should slot into our midfield nicely. He also has been known to play central midfield so when Luka comes back to full fitness we should see the two of them working together in the middle of the park.

The clubs official website finally announced the moves of Kevin-Prince Boateng and Jamie O’Hara today as well. Which could very well have made this Kranjcar deal that much easier, what with both the young midfielders heading to Fratton Park.

A couple of other interesting transfer stories were the proposed moves for Martin Petrov from Man City, and Anton Ferdinand from Sunderland. The deal for Petrov would have apparently seen David Bentley heading the other way, and the deal for Ferdinand would have saw Alan Hutton switching to the stadium of light. Both moves fell through obviously but the targets are definitely interesting considering both seem to be in direct relation to where we have injuries in the squad.

Either way I think Kranjcar is a steal if in fact we only payed 2.5 million for him, and I look forward to seeing him in a Spurs shirt. We don’t have #’s 4, 11, or 13 taken so I’d expect him to grab one of those.

Thank God the window has shut without any massive departures for once!

Sorry for the delay on this post but I’ve been having some hardware issues. luckily it would seem that they are behind me.

Well another case of Spurs leaving it late too clinch the 3 points, and Aaron Lennon was the hero again for the second week in a row. After Peter Crouch scored the first goal from a Huddlestone cross, it took less than five minutes for Brum to equalize. It looked like we’d have to say goodbye to our perfect record, until lightening quick Lennon clinched the winner in the 90th minute.

Sadly this victory came at the cost of our Croatian play maker Luka Modric, as after limping off at halftime, scans have shown he has a fractured fibula. The club has announced he’ll be out for about 6 weeks, so it’ll be a hit to our midfield. Luckily we do have Robbie Keane, David Bentley and Giovani Dos Santos that all have experience playing that wide left position. Not to say that Modric won’t be missed as he’s been the shining star in our midfield.

Also in other team news Pascal Chimbonda has completed a transfer to Blackburn after only arriving at Spurs last January, and I’m sure we lost money on that sale. Kevin-Prince Boateng has also been transferred to Pompey for a fee reported to be around 4 million. I wish them both the best at their new clubs.

Joining Kevin will be Jamie O’Hara, who will be going to Pompey on loan after signing a contract extension with Spurs, and I have to say I’m pleased to hear it as he’s been a great workhorse for us. The first team experience at Pompey should be good for the boy.

We’ve got Man Utd next week and we need to keep our run going. Until then…

Substitutes: David Button , Danny Rose , Kevin-Prince Boateng , Aaron Lennon , Wilson Palacios , Jermain Defoe

I was Happy with everyones performance today except the penalty call that Boateng gave up. In the end it really didn’t matter though. I think we should consider giving some of these guys some time this weekend against Brum. But until then…

COYS!

The Transfer window closes in less than a week and I think I speak for most when I say that it will be a big relief for everyone here at the offside. No more posts wasted on rumors and hearsay.
