Where’s Ade?

Well, it is now Thursday; two days to go until the big game which we are all so happy Emmanuel Adebayor is, by a quirk of fate, going to be available for. Actually, speaking of Adebayor; has anyone seen him anywhere?

With Togo having crashed out of the AFCON tournament on Sunday it was much publicised that he would be back with us on Tuesday.

As far as the press know the last known whereabouts of himself and his teammates appears to have been the team hotel, which they were meant to have vacated two days earlier. Needless to say, that is not good news for the hotel but to be honest I don’t give a monkeys about them. It’s the state of affairs over at White Hart Lane which concerns me.

Not only has Ade been caught up in the confusion which has arisen from the task of getting on a chartered flight and coming home, but is the cause of it.

When ready to leave as planned, the Togo squad were instructed by Adebayor to stay in the hotel as he had booked a private jet for them. The jet did not arrive, nobody seemed to know if there was going to be another one, tempers became frayed, and meanwhile the Ghanaian team who took the chartered flight are back with their respective clubs.

Spurs are saying that this is no big deal, that he had issues to deal with after the tournament finished and that he had been given a couple of days off. All well and good (although they would say that). Villas Boas even says he has spoken to the player and knows where Adebayor is but ‘doesn’t wish to make it public’.

Uh oh. Ade, you had better not be in Vegas!

I’m sure this will all sort itself out and we will see Adebayor running out for training tomorrow. I’m sure? Well, I hope.
