WestHam 1 – Spurs 2: a test of character…
By: Drew | August 23rd, 2009
Today was the first time this season that we conceded the first goal. This game showed the confidence and fight that we can use if we try. Granted we also had a spot of luck for the equalizer, but that is beside the point.
Carlton Cole drew first blood and quickly became the hero for the Hammers only to become the villain shortly there after by recklessly passing the ball directly to Jermain Defoe who then scored the Equalizer.
It wasn’t until later in the game that Vedran Corluka sent Aaron Lennon down the right side to cut into the box and score the winner.
Either way that makes it 9 out of 9 points possible for us and it seems like we are in great form. The atmosphere between the players seems electric and hopefully we can keep this going. We have Doncaster on Wednesday for the Carling Cup, Then Birmingham on the weekend.

Best part about this is our away record, so far. I know beating Hull away isn’t that big of a deal, but it’s the type of game that Spurs needed to dominate if we really are going to be a threat for the top four this season. Beating Villa at Upton Park is huge, as well. In past years, that game would have been a draw. We’ve got a little bit more resolve so far, this season.

Christ, man, I woke up at 6:15 in the morning to watch this after not a whole lot of sleep. I fell back asleep at half-time. FML

As a life-long fan of the spurs and now living in the United States, I am forced to follow games through “Match Tracker.” Today I managed to watch highlights via the BBC. I was most impressed by West Ham and must congratulate the Spurs for withstanding the away pressure from a well played club. The game throughout was played at a skill level far beyond those wonderful days of the 60s and the double. Thank you ‘arry. On my next visit to England you may rest assured I shall make time to go to a game and cheer on the lads once more.

Anthony, You can stream the games live on justin.tv on matchday. the quality isn’t always perfect but it sure beats watching a match tracker.
