It's looking even more likely that Berbatov will be another Spurs player to fly the coop to Old Trafford.

If we sell Berbatov, we will never be a top four club. We won't even be a selling club, we'll be United's freaking feeder club. We might as well as admit that Bale and Hutton were bought so that we could prep them for a move to United in 2 years time. And I guess we can expect Velose to come after all. 2 years to get used to the Prem and then he can go to a real club.

If Tottenham have aspirations to challenge for a top 4 spot, it makes no sense selling their best players to a club in the same division, weakening their ability to gain valuable points in the campaign.

Furthermore, I do not understand the significance of your point about Berbatov's value potentially decreasing. Why should a fan care? Fans should want success. They should be concerned about a club's finances, but Tottenham are not exactly struggling financially. The few million that may decrease in the value of a player is really insignificant in the context of Spurs's financial situation.

Of course Spurs will sell him. He wants to leave and has said so against the interests of the club and his teammates. This is the only reason he will leave.

Whilst i have no problem with Berba leaving, selling him to a team in the Prem is just stupid. Send him abroad. If we have any dreams of climbing up the league, then selling him to a club over here doesn't help matters.
