The answer to the previous question is…..?

By: Drew | February 7th, 2009

No, Appiah will not be joining Spurs.
So says this article…
apparently with Zokora, Huddlestone, Modric, Jenas, and now Palacios, There isn’t room for another Center Midfielder.
Sad? yes very much so. and to add to the bummer is this article about Giovani. Further showing the lack of support Harry has for our young Mexican prospect. I hope he kicks major ass in the qualifier, so that maybe Harry will take a second thought about getting rid of him in the summer.

And to add to the Shit news, Every single article I have found about the Derby this Sunday all over emphasize the length of time it has been since we beat the ARSEnal in the league. Travis over at the Arsenal page wrote a piece about The Arshavin debacle, but also the importance of the Derby game for both teams at this stage of the league this year.

If you don’t know, Spurs need the points to climb the table. Arsenal need them to catch villa and chelsea for the champions league spot. Need I say more?

It would appear our new Cap’n will be making his homecoming debut for us Sunday, But most think Arshavin will only make a cameo for our rivals perhaps as a late sub or something. Bentley, King, O’Hara, Hutton, and Defoe are all out for the game on Sunday. Lennon has been on fire up the right side, Dawson has been strong in the back, We’ve got Palacios and Keane to cover the midfield and up front, and Hutton’s been out for almost the whole season now. I think we’ll be okay.

If ever there was a time to beat our rivals, this would be it. Their recent struggle in form and missing of key players could mean this is the perfect time to sock it to them. Hopefully Robbie can bring the confidence that our side needs to nick a result.

See you guys after the derby, COYS!

I’m not sure letting Gio go to Mexico is a sign of Harry’s non-support (though he clearly isn’t Gio’s biggest fan). Wouldn’t it have sent a worse message to keep a frustrated player on the bench rather than release him for his country’s biggest game of the year?
As for kicking ass in the qualifier, I’m afraid I can’t bring myself to root for that.

Drew, maybe its good Gio goes to Mexico, it’ll at least give him the chance to get some playing time in and hopefully work to eventually being match fit for us. Once he’s there he may get a few games as long as we also pick up some points to get us out from near the bottom.
