That’s it! I say get rid of him.

I’m done with Martin Jol.

I could point to the way the team is playing, the porous defense or the fact that we have yet to pull out of a relegation spot…. But no, I want Martin Jol to go away because of the ridiculous things he says.

“We are in the last 16 of the Carling Cup, we are in the UEFA Cup and there are a lot of clubs who would like to do the same.”…. Huh? So what? Who cares? Should we not qualify for the knockout stages of the UEFA cup does it matter that we were in it? I’d think not… and how can he pat himself on the back for being in the last 16 of the Carling Cup? We’ve won a game, big deal. What I’m feeling and hearing is Martin Jol seems to think that what he’s done in the past (Qualify for European play) should give him a free pass to do absolute shit this year.

And how about this one regarding Newcastle going into last nights game: “We had European football for the last two years and they didn’t,” Jol said. “Why would we be in the same boat? It would be fantastic for them if they were in the first six or seven, playing European football next season would be a good achievement for them. We already did that twice so it’s different. We are in the group stages of the UEFA Cup and they would love to do that as well.” Huh? How does that matter when they’re on the pitch dismantling us? This is something that Marin Jol doesn’t seem to understand, they may well be playing European football next season, but at this rate Tottenham Hotspur will not. Sack him, I’m done with lame excuses.

Hi Richard, I’m not sure sacking Jol would have any real benefits. Sure, short term form might pick up, but considering the state Spurs were in for about 15 years before Jol, it’d be mad to let him go just now. His job will certainly be reviewed at the end of the season, but after what he’s achieved for Spurs (highest place finish in the Premiership, ever. Twice.), we owe him to at least show that he can bring us out of it. Admittedly, our form is poor, and Levy may not be able to wait for a Jol turnaround if we are still in the relegation zone at Xmas.

Oh and it’s Getafe tonight. I predict a Spurs victory which will hide Jol’s shortcomings/get Spurs off on a decent run of form. One of those two, I’m not sure.

If you take Juande, I’m coming over to England to get him back. Don’t do it Spurs, I’m warning you.

Sorry Ryan, I think Juande is in the bag. Gus Poyet as his assistant. The real problem is this crappy Sporting Director role that Damian Commolli holds. It’s rubbish. Imagine someone else telling Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho or Benetiz who to buy in the transfer market. It wouldn’t work. It’s why Mourinho left. Terrible…. but Jol’s gone and we need a new man. It looks like Juande Ramos is the man in the frame, although Clive Allen will step in as caretaker for at least the Blackburn game.

Well, you got your wish… he’s gone. Now i’d like to get mine…. and that’s Defoe. I was hoping they were going to sell him awhile back when the rumours were out there…. with Keane and Berbatov (hoping we keep him) we have a great pair up front and it was obvious in the game aginst Getafe that Defoe does not play well with Berb (or anyone else…he’s a loner) and having to bench Keane to ‘keep Defoe happy’ is ridiculous. Yes i know Defoe ’scored’ the Goal but look at the rest he missed.
We have some Solid players..these being my first choice, Keane,Berb,Huddlestone,Steed,Chimbonda,Lennon,Gareth Bale,Zokora,Lee,Tainio,Gardner and Stalteri… And Ledley King when we get to use him again!!!! Goalkeeper?….i’m afraid to go there!!! Come on Spurs let’s prove them all wrong!!!!!!

Commolli is going to have a hard time throwing his weight around if Spurs want to attract a top Manager… I can’t imagine Ramos would leave Sevilla and not have quite a bit of control at Spurs… You can say goodbye to the wide open play Spurs have used for the past three years as well….

Juande plays attacking football, he’s not very defensive. Sure he is not going to play a 4-3-3, but Sevilla haven’t been the best defending team ever, but have won games with Kanouté and Luis Fabiano netting goals when it came down to it.

Juande will play a 4-4-2 with two deep lying holders and significant wing play. Bale and Lennon will both finally start at the same time. Chimbonda should flourish. I can’t see any of our CM’s surviving the vetting process. Berbatov may well stay now.
