STOKE CITY – TOTTENHAM LIVEBLOG
By: Sam | October 19th, 2008Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! I overslept. So sorry.
90′ +9 : Dawson is sent off, studs up challenge on Sidibe. There’s two minutes left in the match, but I’m going to find something better to do. You can expect a very bitter match recap.
90′ +7 : Hutton makes a great tackle on Higginbotham. He’s had a good match, remember it’s his first in a long time.
90′ +6 : HAHAHAHAHAHA! No goal! Gomes slightly touches it, the ball goes and hits both posts. Delap hits the rebound onto the crossbar. Phew.
90′ +5 : Penalty. Woodgate fouls, just barely, but yeah, penalty. I hate everything.
90′ +4 : Dawson slides and concedes a corner, that was an important one.
90′ +2 : Lennon gets called for a foul, I disagree.
90′ +2 : Modric and Pav get chances around the edge of the area, nothing doing.
90′ : ELEVEN minutes of stoppage time.
90′ : Stupid sliding tackle by Woodgate, he’s booked.
88′ : Aaaaaaaaaaand Jenas puts it over.
87′ : Foul on Bent, we’ve got a great free kick opportunity.
86′ : Fast break anchored by Modric, ends up giving it away cheaply.
84′ : There you have it, Sonko is done for the night, Shawcross replaces him.
82′ : Long ball over to Pavyluchenko, the Russian couldn’t control properly. Now, the Stoke defender is down. Cripes, seriously.
81′ : Gomes goes full stretch to clear a throw-in, Stoke bring it back in and earn a corner.
80′ : Free kick by Jenas, nowhere near a head, nowhere near the goal.
79′ : Foul by Stoke on Lennon in the middle of the park. We’ve got to get moving again.
77′ : I think there’s a pretty serious concussion or something. He’s finally stretchered off.
72′ : That’s that for the Croatian, Dawson is coming on to replace him. This is really not a fun game to watch if you’re me.
70′ : This is getting ridiculous. Gomes knees Corluka in the face, he’s really hurt now.
69′ : Free-kick in a decent position coming up for Stoke.
68′ : Jebus. Now Corluka looks like he’s injured pretty bad.
67′ : Darren Bent tracks back on the right side and does some good defending against Higginbotham.
65′ : Whoa, I’m sorry, Sorensen is actually hurt. His face is all bloody, his day is finished. Simonsen is on in his stead.
64′ : Hutton picks up a yellow card because Sorensen’s wallowing around. Bullshit. His own player knocked him on the head.
63′ : Good save by Gomes. However, he’s not looking very comfortable, it might be that knock earlier in the first half.
62′ : Sidibe picked up a knock on his leg, should be okay.
60′ : Stoke defender gifts Modric with a free shot right outside of the area, but it’s over.
59′ : David Bentley is coming off, Roman Pavlyuchenko is coming on. Let’s doooooooo it!
58′ : Gomes goofs up, tries to catch a throw-in but lets it go out for a corner, which is headed wide by Sidibe.
57′ : Gomes does good work and gets the ball ahead of Fuller on a rush, the two players collide.
56′ : Kitson is off, Fuller is on for Stoke. The ginger kid looks pissed about coming off.
55′ : This is depressing.
53′ : GOAL STOKE. Rory Delap is on the end of a great ball in from Sidibe. Shit defending, it’s 2-1.
51′ : Jenas clears said corner across the byline, it’s another corner. Which in turn fails.
50′ : A bit of a slow start to the second half. Stoke fans are restless, they want their boys to take advantage of Bale not being there. For the time being it’s not happening. Gomes saves, corner to the Potters.
49′ : Bentley tries to lob Higginbotham, puts lots of pressure on him in his own area, but concedes a free-kick.
48′ : Waaaaaay long throw-in into the area by Stoke, but they foul as well, our ball.
46′ : We’re back underway.
45′ + 3 : Fast break by Spurs, it’s stopped by the backline. Lennon fouls, and the ref blows for half-time. See you in fifteen minutes.
45′ + 2 : Good work by Corluka to defend, he attracts a foul and the ball is cleared.
45′ : Shit! He’s hurt!
44′ : Gomes awkwardly clears a long throw.
43′ : Stoke gives it away to Gomes. They’re not particularly impressive, Stoke.
42′ : Modric almost creates a beautiful opportunity, but it’s cleared by the defense. Foul by Lennon now.
39′ : Great work by Lennon, walks in and gets a good shot off, Sorensen is equal to it. Spurs are looking REALLY good, I would have never guessed there’s only ten of them.
38′ : Corner is cleared. Fuck! Announcers just told me that we’re actually down to ten men. Bale got sent off twenty minutes in, that led to the penalty.
37′ : Hutton (!) takes it down to the byline and puts it off Higginbotham for a corner. He’s in pain though, looks like he took it in the midsection.
36′ : Luka Modric dances around, shoots but again it’s wide. Spurs are looking good in these last five minutes. By the way, Higginbotham scored for Stoke on 19 minutes and Bent equalized six minutes later.
35′ : Good buildup by Spurs, Bentley ends up putting it way over.
32′ : Aaron Lennon waltzes in and fires a decent shot but it’s saved nicely.

I have defended Ramos all along because I know he is a class manager, but his tactics are, and were all wrong, he needs to go. Levy and Commoli should follow him out the door. New ownership and management, would love to see Roy Keane whipping our boys into shape, we need a presence like him in the dressing room. That’s the only way to bring glory back to the mighty Tottenham Hotspur.

The announcers mentionned Slaven Bilic during the match. Think that could work?

I heard Roy keane and Bilic that would be awesome! Roy keane is a spurs fan and hes out of contract soon so its possible I would def want keane over bilic but i think both have the complete package instead of mummy ramos that seems to have no emotion except arm throwing!
