St Patrick Athletic 0 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur (friendly)
By: Jay | July 13th, 2007Robbie Keane scored his second goal in two games on his return to Dublin, as the Spurs won at Richmond Park. St Pats, who are currently 2nd in the Eircom League, were undone by the Irish hero getting onto a through ball from Danny Murphy. Good stuff then. 2 wins in 2 games so far, but it wasn’t all tea and cakes as new signing Gareth Bale had to come off the pitch 10 minutes from the end with a thigh injury. It doesn’t seem to be too serious, but we wait with our fingers crossed. Younes Kaboul also completed his debut game for the club, along with a few more first-teamers which signals the return of serious football.
Spurs team: Cerny, Rocha, Bale (Ifil, 82), Kaboul, Gardner (Dawson , 46), Taarabt (Maghoma, 46), Murphy (O’Hara, 57), Zokora, Malbranque, Bent (Barnard, 69), Keane. Subs: Robinson, Ifil, Daniels.
Next up, the Vodacom Cup:
21st July Kaizer Chiefs
24th July Orlando Pirates
28th July TBC

Transfer News
It seems that Hertha Berlin have accepted our bid for KP Boateng, and we wait and see if he agrees terms and passes his medical. There have been fears that previous knee problems for the ‘Ghetto Kid’ could hamper his move. If he does arrive, it means that someones Spurs career is over.
Additionally, Anthony Gardner is annually linked with moves away to teams like Charlton, Portsmouth and Aston Villa. Well, this year is no different. I wouldn’t mind to see him leave. He is good in the air and genuinely quick, but does make mistakes every now and again, and if Spurs want to realistically challenge that Top 4 then we have to upgrade. As long as we get someone else in, Curtis Davies would be brilliant, then it’s fine with me.
