Spurs Morsels 08/10/10 : MLS Partnerships, UEFA Cup Fixtures, Dumbasses, Internationals, And A Poll!
By: Sam | October 10th, 2008
///Sho ’nuff, as reported on the San Jose Earthquakes Offside a few days ago, Tottenham and the sort-of newest MLS club have come to a business agreement akin to that of Colorado and The Arse. Paul Barber, Spurs’ executive director, delivered this frighteningly exciting comment about the partnership: This agreement with San Jose Earthquakes will provide us with an excellent opportunity to access a key region in a global market. As a Club we are continually looking for innovative ways to evolve and our partnership with the Earthquakes will enable us to market the Tottenham Hotspur to a wider audience. We already have a fan base within the state of California and the opportunity to grow the brand in the U.S is very appealing. Forgive me for not being excited. Because frankly, who cares.
///Also, much more important: Here are our UEFA Cup fixture dates. And YES! We’ve got a way favourable schedule home/away-wise. We start in Udine on the 23rd of this very month, and then we’re home to Dinamo Zagreb on November 6th. Then it’s away to Nijmegen on the 27th, and our last match in the group stage, hopefully not our last match period, is home (thankfully) to Spartak at some time in mid-december.
///Tottenham’s official website recently conducted an interview with Sue Tilling, White Hart Lane’s security officer, talking about the Sol Campbell incidents. I won’t bother to quote any of it, here’s the link. I will say, however, that while I support hating Sol Campbell with all my heart, if it involves any sort of racism, homophobia or other such bigoted misanthropy, fuck that. One of the reasons why I came to like Spurs was because I liked the fans, what with the stories I had heard about taunting the Nazis at West Ham and all. But this shit is lame. If you have to resort to racism or homophobia to insult someone, it’s because you’re lacking something, most likely brains or balls. That’s that.
///Hey, we’ve got internationals, right? What are they up to this week?
Alan Hutton (Scotland) is playing Norway at home.
Gareth Bale and Chris Gunter(Wales) are playing Lichtenstein at home and Germany away.
Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric (Croatia) are playing Ukraine away and Andorra at home.
Jermaine Jenas (England) isplaying Kazakhstan at home and Belarus away.
Didier Zokora (Côte d’Ivoire) is playing Madagascar at home.
Roman Pavlyuchenko (Russia) is playing Germany away and Finland at home.
Giovani Dos Santos (Mexico) is playing Jamaica at home and Canada away. In fact, he’s playing a twenty-minute bus ride away from where I’m sitting right now. But I’m out of town. Seriously, what are the chances. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
///So we’re sucking, right? Why?
What’s the reason behind our shite start?
( polls)
///I’m leaving Sunday morning for Québec until Friday. Yeah, I’m hella-busy. So sit tight, and I’ll be back next weekend. COYOYOYOYOYOYOYOYS!

Commoli and Levy out and owners in who actually care more about the club than their bank accounts. Selling 50 goals and buying no proven quality to replace them with is rediculous… COYS
