Spurs 3 – AFC Bournemouth 0
By: Drew | July 17th, 2009
Today saw our second Preseason friendly against AFC Bournemouth. Goals from Robbie Keane, Wilson Palacios and Jermain Defoe saw another confident performance from Spurs.
Tottenham
Carlo Cudicini
Pascal Chimbonda, Danny Rose, Michael Dawson,Dorian Dervite
David Bentley, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Tom Huddlestone, Luka Modric
Robbie Keane, Darren Bent
Substitutes
David Button , Alan Hutton , Vedran Corluka , Aaron Lennon , Jake Livermore , Jermain Defoe , Benoit Assou-Ekotto , Jamie O’Hara , Wilson Palacios , Roman Pavlyuchenko
Basically the same set of players as our first friendly, but this begs the question Where are Jenas, King, Woodgate, Gomes, Dos Santos, and Bale?
I think King is obviously rested because of his knees, and Gomes was with the Brazil squad for the Confederations cup so maybe Harry is letting him relax for a bit. There’s no explanation for the other players, Other than Dos Santos being on his way out (which sucks). I’m just confused as to why we bring in a lot of young reserve guys when we have first team players that need to get some time in before the season.
Granted we do have a couple more friendlies coming up so maybe we’ll see some of these guys coming back. I just hope that Harry doesn’t neglect these guys.
If anything actually happens on the transfer front I’ll keep you posted.

Gareth Bale is recovering from a knee op, it’s not certain he’ll be fit for the start of the season so I wouldn’t expect him to play in friendlies.
