Spurs 2 – ManU 5: Dude…..
By: Drew | April 25th, 2009…The Fuck?
I’d have to say that Howard Webbs first goal for united really turned it around for them.
I can’t really stand to even think about it.
leave your thoughts.

C’mon, with that 2nd half performace, Webb or no Webb, who can honestly say Spurs deserved any points fron that game?
Modric totally disappeared after his goal.

yes, miele, it was a great performance from united but after that fake-ass penalty they had a mental breakdown or something. I don’t think they would have won the game without that penalty. Although it’s been a while since I’ve seen such an impressive change from first half to second half from a team, by that I mean United. Great football.

vic yes u’ve got a point, that may well be so.
Imho we were dua a (albeit controversial) decision, since we’ve had a few denied (e.g. Wellbeck vs Everton FA Cup). The second half the midfield woke up and quit letting Spurs pass the ball about as they like. Berbatov and scholes’ passing were excellent and Rooney became a monster of sorts.
That said, this result aside, Spurs have been playing really well I think. A bit more heart and steel and you guys will be fine. I’ve always like watching u guys play.

Yeah Wayne I’m glad someone got that from the post.
I won’t deny that Shrek, Slave, Lazytov, and Tevez (who really needs to get the fudge out of united) put in a ridiculous comeback in the second half. I only took a shot at Webb because the replay clearly showed Gomes making contact with the ball.
Either way we have the Baggies next weekend, and we’ll be out for blood.

Forgive me for belaboring the point but I really am confused, some clarification would be appreciated.
Okay this is what I saw from repeated viewings of he incident:
Carrick pushes the ball aside upon seeing Gomes coming forward. Gomes dives and got a slight touch to the ball, in the process however encountering Carrick’s leg’s thus taking him out.
So what do football rules actually say? To me it seemed that even though the keeper had contact with the ball, he also effectively took out a player with direct bearing on goal, thus it’s still a penalty, however complicated.I may be wrong though.
Good luck vs the Baggies!

What really turned it around was the performance enhancing substances injected into the United players during the half. Tevez and Ronaldo played like men possessed, possessed by dope. They displayed typical signs of someone on stimulants.
Along with the penalty, even a mongoloid could see what a farce football has become in the upper echelon of the game.

i believe the rules say that if a player plays the ball it’s not a foul if the opposing player goes down in the process. Meaning gomes touched the ball before he tripped carrick, and if carrick goes down in the process then it shouldn’t have mattered.
But i suppose Webb felt like the FA owed united one after being denied the penalty shout in the semi…

A rubbish penalty decision and an offside goal. Ah well, you learn to accept these things when you finally come to realise the whole world is on United’s dick.
