Spurs 2 Liverpool 1: Can We Play Exclusively During Injury Time Every Week, Please?

By: Sam | November 1st, 2008

You see that man there? He’s a better manager than you. Cripes, I don’t know where to start. Do I talk about the batshit insane turnaround that our club has had in the past week, seen again today? Do I talk about us getting out of the basement of the Premier League, finally? Do I talk about us beating Liverpool for the first time in three million years, doing so in stoppage time?

Well, let’s see. In midweek against the Arse, Redknapp brings on Lennon, who ends up scoring in stoppage time to finalize the big comeback. Today, Redknapp brings on Pavlyuchenko, who ends up scoring the winner in stoppage time. Four points from two matches three days apart against big four clubs is pretty good.

So let’s talk about the match, shall we? I only caught the first half (once again, I watched the wrong one), in which Liverpool had a choke hold on our boys for the first ten minutes, after which we started to react a bit better, hold possession after winning balls, mount decent counter-attacks. Assou-Ekotto had shown promise in his last couple of appearances, but he wasn’t good for much today, as you could see on the Reds’ goal (which was quite nice). Same goes for Zokora and Huddlestone, who just couldn’t seem to make the right decisions in the back of the midfield, which is in large part why Liverpool had so much ease walking around in our half of the field.

The rest, my friends, is history. But hey, I’ve got more news. Pretty soon, I’ll be joining forces with Max, another avid yiddo to bring you the best in Tottenham news and opinion. For now, let’s enjoy this wicked win and hope for more very soon. If you see Harry Redknapp walking around on the street, buy him a beer or something. COME ON YOU SPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURS!

Hey Sam, from what I can tell, you do play exclusively during injury time every week.

Sam, don’t to sound like a jerk (never a good way to start a sentence) but Bent didn’t score in added time against the arse, Lennon did, Bent scored the second goal, and second thing it’s Assou-Ekotto*.

Back to the match – It’s about time we got some luck, and what topped off Saturday was the arse losing to Stoke 2-1. Oh these are good times at the Lane.

I don’t think it was so much luck as horrid defending on the rebound by Liverpool on the game-winner. Either way, it was thrilling to watch.
