Spurs 1 – Blackcats 1
By: Drew | March 7th, 2009
In Tottenham’s visit to the Stadium of light it was already expected to be a tough match. Kieran Richardson scored Sunderlands goal within the first five minutes, and from there it looked a little iffy.
Luckily for us our new captain Robbie Keane came in to save the day in the 89th minute. Setanta has ratings for every player in the match here. As expected Aaron Lennon was ranked as man of the match. Our little winger has been playing out of his mind recently, which has led to speculation that he could be recalled to the England squad.
In other news, Chris Gunter will be heading out on loan sometime this week, all depending on what decision Harry makes as to where he’s headed. All that has been confirmed is that it will be a Championship side, and for the purpose of (obviously) Gunter getting more first team experience.
The draw today saw us leapfrog Hull city and we currently sit in 12th place with 32 points. We’re sitting just within spittin’ distance of the top 10, We face Villa away next, then Chelsea at home after that, so it’ll be a tough task but we’ve got to bang out some results, and we’re totally capable of doing so.

Decent match which we mostly dominated. Stupid goal given away in the third minute which kinda of killed us for a bit until we regained a bit of confidence. Lennon definitely wasn’t the man of the match in my opinion as he was contained perfectly by the Sunderland midfield and defense. I guess you could say Keano was man of the match not only because of his goal but because of his all around decent performance.
Not a bad result but we definitely deserved more.

Theres only one Keanoooo!!! We should have won, King had a good chance but forced a good save out of Sunderland’s keeper. Then Darren Bent had two chances that he should have put away. I really want to see Dos Santos given a chance up front.
