So What the Hell Are We Doing

The season’s over, we’ve got UEFA Cup football next year, Arsenal didn’t win shit, and we’re looking at a whole host of players over the summer. What I haven’t seen, however, is a consistent approach. First it’s “Martin Jol is going to spend 10 million pounds on Gareth Bale” then it’s “fifteen million on Darren Bent” and then it’s “Thierry Henry was found in a bizarre tryst with Latin singing sensation Ricky Martin” which, in fairness, I just made up. Couldn’t you kind of see that happening, though?

Anyway, I’m trying to figure out what exactly our plan is for over the summer. If we acquire Bent, you’ve got to figure Defoe goes. If we pick up Gareth Bale or Leighton Baines, I can’t imagine we’d keep three left backs on the roster. And of course Mido is leaving the team for an environment more suited to his tastes, preferably one where showing up drunk and un-showered isn’t an issue.

So the rumors keep coming in while I sit here waiting for a confirmed transfer, or a cogent statement from Martin Jol. We’ll see how the shit plays out.

  The consistent approach you are missing is the fact we have gone from a mid-table team to qualifing for european football two years running and are now the best equiped team in the EPL to challenge the top 4 and hopefully a CL place…All in 3 years….In Jol We Trust.

  Poor Spuds, when will you beat the mighty Arsenal? Oh and Unlucky on another miserable season, at least we got to a final with a team with an average age of 21, who did we beat in the Semi’s again?
