Looks like defoe is back! by the way, the last line of the article is claiming that Stephen Appiah is on trial, and I love that... I think we need some REAL toughness in the midfield behind Modric, and I don't really think Jenas does that for us, so getting a tough minded player in Appiah would be amazing for us

I don't trust Cavenaghi.... he looks like a quality player, but I just have a personal thing against strikers with male pattern baldness in their mid-20's

Personally, I would love to see Defoe come back to White Hart Lane, mostly because he's a proven Premier League player who genuinely wishes to play for Spurs as well as the fact that he loves playing for Harry Redknapp

Most of all, I hope they stay away from Bellamy, because low goal-rate and anger issues aren't what we need

Steer clear of Bellamy. Too much trouble.

Podolski? Yes. But he could so easily be another expensive flop.

If Dean Ashton could keep himself fit I'd love to see him at the Lane.

Lads I wouldn't get too worried about your striking crisis and don't start to rip in Redknapp about the lack of transfer activity.
You will be pleasantly surprised soon if all goes to plan.

1 Word - PODOLSKI - with out a doubt, theres no question about it,this kid is all talent & class,i say forget about Defoe ,Portsmouth is pbviously playing hard ball,if we increase the bid any more the price would be ridiculous,i honestly wouldn't go past the 10 mil mark with him, Podolski would fit right into the squad & reason i say this is because i believe he would have the best partnership with PAV,i dont think Defoe would be as successfull with Pav,Im really hopeing Podolski ends up a Spur,Weve wanted Lucas for quite some time now & it would be wonderfull to see him playing at white heart lane..Champions league would come sooner then u think, with those 2 up front..

And oh yea since arsenal cant get the funds to get arshavin why dont we instead of spending 12m on downing and the 20m on defoe they are asking just by podolski for the 12 and arshavin for the 20! get some international players on there instead of some OKAY players..I like defoe but 20m is out of control he can stay there or go to villa.

podolski is the only one that is really obtainable I think defoe they will keep raising the price and Cavenaghi just got an award for playing on the team so i doubt he will leave..I hope they bring in podolski so he can help us beat man u in the carling cup! He would be great pairing with pav up front

I'd love any of the three as long as we don't get Bellamy. The whole Defoe thing just recently got a bit discouraging though as Redknapp said that Levy and Storrie are miles apart on their valuations of JD. As for Cavenaghi, I haven't heard much development on the rumour or anything so I don't really see it happening. It was more Ramos that was interested in him, I think 'Arry would rather bring in English talent. Podolski would be an awesome signing, the boy is class. In several forums/facebook groups I've seen a lot of people calling him a "one trick pony" saying he only has a left peg and nothing else. Personally I highly rate him and the only reason he's not playing at Bayern is because Toni and Schweinsteiger are on top form. He'd also provide speed up front, something Pav definitely doesn't.

We still have a problem in that none of these three are strong target men. Maybe Pavlyuchenko is but we haven't seen enough of him on form to know so. Remember, it did take Berba some time to adapt to the prem and if Pav adopts as well as Berba did then we may have a good partnership in him and Bent/one of these three (if acquired).

Only time will tell now. 'Arry definitely knows what he's doing. Let's look ahead to Tuesday in the CC Semi's against Burnley.

I'd vote Cavé on principle, but chances are you probably won't get your hands on him. Unless there's a lot of money on the table, and then you may wait until summer :)
