If Berb goes, we don’t score. As many chances as he has missed (and if my memory was good enough I could visualize about 20 this season), at least he’s getting to that point. It just seems that he’s the only guy that can even create a scoring chance. If he goes, someone pretty special better fill that playmaker void, or we may be wishing we had missed chances rather than no chances next year.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head when you say we lack competitors. And Gattuso would be an amazing signing that would give us that steel that we undoubtedly lack. I don’t know that there are many players that would swap the champions league for spurs after a mid table finish. Berbatov joined after a fifth place finish and must ave thought a break through would be iminent. Juande must have been confident he could attract some decent players when he came though. Ramos raised the work ethic and instilled a winning mentality but that momentum has now been lost. A new midfield must be the priority

I think we can look back at the last two years and clearly see that there are players on this team that lack heart. I’ve heard that Rino Gattuso maybe looking for a new challenge feeling he’s spent enough time with the Rossoneri (Milan have also been rumored to be interested in Mathieu Flamini, so Gattuso’s move away does make sense). Spurs name has been linked (not that it means anything, we’re linked to everyone) and he would really add a little fire to a side that sorely needs it. There’s just too many players on the side that don’t have that kind of passion…. Move them out and get some real competitors on the pitch!

You’d think that given the only thing the spurs players are playing for is their future at the club, they would be giving their all, week in, week out. I hope Jaundes threats that they’re playing for their futures are not empty ones and that the slackers are shipped out as I only want triers at my club who wear their heart on their sleeves and with the personal pride to run themselves into the ground and give 100% for the club. The slump since the league cup final has been a disgrace and the subsiquent euro displays abismal. I look forward to better things next season!!
