Oh no, not again… Lippi to Spurs?
By: Richard | September 10th, 2007
For me personally, the international break is a real killer. Just as the season is starting to roll we’re left waiting two weeks to see our club play. The agony is compounded by the fact that we’re hosting the scum on the 15th. The anticipation has me going crazy!
Now, half way through the two week hiatus, we’re once again hearing rumors of Martin Jol being ousted, this time for World Cup winning manager Marcello Lippi. The part that makes me feel the rumor has a bit more legs then your standard English Tabloid talk is the fact that Daniel Levy is also rumored to be looking to sell Spurs. Hiring Lippi, by all indications, would drive up Levy’s selling price and make the club more attractive to potential buyers. Lippi has done it all, leading Juventus to multiple Scudetto as well as winning the Champions League, he is of unquestioned pedigree. Lippi has reportedly showed interest in managing an English club, making Spurs the most logical destination.
So what are you thoughts? If we fail to impress against Ars*nal and Lippi is willing this could be the type of move that turns Tottenham Hotspur from ‘best of the rest’ to future league champions??? Or am I dreaming?
On a side note: I just want to apologize for the infrequent bloging over the past week. I’m getting married in a few weeks so life is a bit chaotic. Not to mention that there’s been little to write about with the international games going on. COYS!
