No Chance Of Sneijder. Dyer, Petrov Linked.

Unfortunately, Wesley Sneijder, of Ajax, has decided to stay in Holland for one more season. The midfield maestro wants to remain with the Dutch giants because of their intent for the upcoming season. Shame, because he is an incredibly gifted technical operator, athletic, can score goals and make a pass.

On a far worse note, Kieron Dyer’s future has been linked with Tottenham! Dear oh dear, I want nothing to do with that. Stay away Kieron, you’re not welcome here! The last thing we need is another straggler, another more injury-prone version of Jenas. OK, I’ll admit when he’s on his game he is pretty good. Bags of pace and an eye for goal. But how much of that has he shown for Newcastle in the last 2 years? Not a lot. While we’re getting him, why not get Darren Anderton back? Added to that, he’s on astronomical wages and well, we’re just a far better run business than many other Premiership clubs. And even with new signing Joey Barton getting injured, this has not increased Dyer’s place at Newcastle. With new manager Sam Allardyce in charge, a no-nonsense policy is in place. If you want to leave, Big Sam will flog you before you have time to call your mother.

“No Kieron, you can’t have £80, 000 a week. Go to West Ham, they’ll let you fill in the numbers.”
- Jay (if I was in charge of Spurs)

On a recurring story, Martin Petrov has made some friendly remarks about the prospect of moving to North London. BUT a story from The Mirror newspaper suggests the Svennis has secured the services of the Bulgarian winger for Manchester City. Still waiting on something concrete….

Just for fun, I’m going to reignite the Mortem Gamst Pederson debate. That’s been a been quiet since there were rumours flying around about us trying to sign him. Although he said at the time he’s happy at Blackburn, perhaps he’s had enough time to think it over and come to his senses. Perhaps he just needs a little chat with Darren Bent.

Tomorrow : Orlando Pirates v Tottenham Hotspur (Vodacom Challenge)
