Next game has to be Zokora partnering Woody in central defense, Benoit isn’t good enough so if Bale is injured we’ve either got play Gilberto or O’Hara and Gunter has to play at RB seeing as he’s the only natural one not injured atm.

Move Modric to the LW for the time being, which will allow Bentley to play on his favoured RW and maybe play Big Tom in DM with Jenas in his natural position of AM.

Before this transfer window closes we need a DM player signed and a quality CB, i’d rather have the rest of the budget spent on those 2 positions instead of on a striker.

The defense was, in general, a little shaky, but Dawson reminded me yet again why, at the very least, I wanted us to add enough CB’s that we wouldn’t need Dawson to be on the field to start the season as part of the first XI. I believe that he is simply too slow to cut it as a defender on a team with dreams of competing for a spot in the top four. I certainly share your fears about our strikers, as well. I would say that we need two more. Asharvin will hopefully be on his way later today or tomorrow, but I’d like one more as I really don’t think that Bent is the answer. He reminds me of a British version of Eddie Johnson in the US. Scores lots of goals against weaker competition where his speed alone is enough to break through, but he has a tendency to disappear against top competition. The gulf in class between Berbatov and Bent was obvious when Berbatov stepped on and immediately started making things happen. It will be sad to lose Berba and I hope we can replace him with someone who will give us more than I think Bent will.
