Let the exodus begin
By: Gary | June 10th, 2008
Three fresh faces have already arrived this summer as part of Juande Ramos White Hart Lane shake-up but now could be the start of those players moving in the other direction.
The media talked up a long list of departures upon the Spaniards arrival, yet it has not quite materialised.
Goalkeeper Radek Cerny and defender Ricardo Rocha are the only players to have headed for the exit so far, and quite frankly more need to follow.
Our squad is huge, and padded by far too many ‘average’ players, who should be told to pack their bags rather promptly.
I get the feeling it is only a matter of time now until we see a ‘mass exodus’.
The newspapers think so too – with the gossip columns littered with Spurs players apparently on their way out.
Aaron Lennon to Aston Villa, Tom Huddlestone to Everton, Paul Robinson to Middlesbrough, Younes Kaboul to Portsmouth, Michael Dawson to Bolton and Anthony Gardner to Stoke are just some of the possible switches predicted.
Then there is Dimitar Berbatov, Hossam Ghaly, Paul Stalteri, Teemu Tainio, Pascal Chimbonda, Kevin Prince-Boeteng and Lee Young-Pyo who have been mentioned in the possible departure lounge.
I expect a fair amount of the above players to leave the club and some I will be sad to see leave, but some I think we will be well shot of.
If we are right in thinking that Ramos’ squad will continue to be strengthened by new players from now until August, surely the flood gates must open to bin those surplus to White Hart Lane requirements.
Ask any Spurs fan to lay their eyes across the back of a Tottenham programme, and most would list double figures of players they expect or want to move on. I am sure Ramos feels the same. The importance of building a tight knitted group of players should not be overlooked.
It is time to galvanize and form a strong set of players to improve our fortunes in the league next season.
I predict a clear-out…

couldnt agree more Gary.
out of the squad at present, here is who I think shouldnt be at the club:Chimbonda
Young Pyo
Zokora
Kaboul
Tainio
Stalteri
Ghaly
Boateng
Taarabt
Dawson
Gardner
Assou Ekotto
and even Gilberto who hasn’t been here long.A lot of change is needed to be frank.
However
A team of Robinson, Hutton, King, Woodgate, Bale, Lennon, Modric, Jenas/Huddlestone, Dos Santos, Keane and Berbatov looks top four.
the backup is the worry

Jenas must go to poor a player to beat the lane

I would like to see Lennon stay, but that seems like less of a possibility with each passing second. True we’ve got way too many good but not great midfielders. If we sell a load of them we can go and get some really good, experienced, defenders.

Hmmm, also there seems to be a problem with the flag thing again, I’m posting from Canada as usual, not from the States.
