Latest Transfer News
By: Jay | July 12th, 2007Emil Hallfredsson has left the club after failing to make any impact since his transfer in 2005. He is now a Lyn Oslo player. Not big news.
The futures of 3 (or 4) players are in the spotlight. As Jol looks to ‘get rid of some deadwood’, the futures of Hossam Ghaly, Wayne Routledge, Danny Murphy and possibly Teemu Tainio are uncertain. Ghaly and Routledge are linked with Birmingham City, but Murphy and Tainio are not linked with any particular clubs as of yet. Personally, I’d like Teemu to stay. He is a battler and we could probably do with him for another season until some of the other lads learn to fight like him. I have to admit that the other 3 should really move on, in my opinion.
Jol’s replacements are likely to be 20 year-old Kevin-Prince Boateng, the self-named ‘Ghetto Kid’, and 16 year-old Gabi Masi. Boateng is a creative central-midfielder, who plays for Hertha Berlin. He was voted Best Young Player in Germany in 2006, another possible quality addition in MJ’s youth-driven plan. Masi, another midfielder, is of the same mould as Cesc Fabregas, and is one for the future. Neither deal is confirmed, but Spurs are rumoured to have lodged a £5m bid for Boateng, which is currently trumping Sevilla’s bid for the same player.
