Keane returns…
By: Drew | February 2nd, 2009
That’s right kids, the Liverpool flop has made his way back to White Hart Lane. This is probably the most bittersweet transfer of the season so far. As I am sure that he will be motivated to play well and sustain a solid first team spot after riding the bench for so long. I just can’t help but feel like Keane expects to be forgiven immediately.
here’s what the player said…
“It was a difficult decision to make to leave Tottenham in the summer,” he said. “It proved not to be the right move for me.
“I know some Spurs fans will feel I let them down by leaving but I can assure them I shall be giving my all for this club – this club has terrific fans and I want to repay them for all their support. We’ve got to get on and fight our way up that league table.”
So just because he admits that it was a bad decision all is forgiven right? I mean clearly he had his vision impaired by that fat pay check and the prospect of CL football. Clearly he thought he was too big for his britches… and by his poor goal scoring record at L’pool, obviously he was wrong. I’m not ready to totally forgive him, but at least his deal went a little more honestly than Judas Berbatov’s. I suppose I’ll give him a couple games to prove he’s really into helping us out. And with Defoe out indefinitely now(even though the club said it’d be 3 weeks), We could use Keano up front.

And in much, much more disappointing news, Tottenham have accepted a reported two bids for Giovani Dos Santos. Anyone who has read my posts before know that I really had high hopes for this kid. Reports say that Pompey are his most interested suitors, but a lot of talk about Wigan being the other team wanting him have surfaced too. While I am sad to see him go if he does, I would definitely understand. Harry hasn’t exactly been kind with Giovani’s amount of playing time. I wish him all the luck in the world if he leaves.
So three former Spurs players have returned, along with Carlo and Wilson as new faces. With today being the last day of the transfer window how do we all feel about our aquisitions? Are there any you think were a bad decision? And most importantly, What the FUCK ever happened with the Appiah signing? (I feel like their just sweeping it under the rug so we forget about it.)
We play the ARSEnal on Sunday, And if Keane were ever going to prove his worth this would be the game to do it in. Hopefully he’ll bang in a few goals in the derby and all will be forgiven. Until next time…

Drew, Gio failed his Portsmouth medical and isn’t leaving. I’m overly ecstatic as I love the kid and think he’s going to be class, I really hope he gets the chance under ‘Arry.
I’m mixed over the whole Keane returning thing, I’ll cheer when he scores, but not for him like I used to, it will only be for Tottenham, no player is bigger than the club.
So what have we learned today kids? Well let’s just ask Robbie, Pascal, and Jermaine. Spurs made them who they are, truly despite whatever they thought, no player is ever bigger than the club itself.

Gio is a quality player. The main problem is back in Mexico so much expectation was placed on him to lead the Mexican NT that he’s become a shadow of his former self.
Mexican press tends to do that to a player, hype him up so much one day and drag him back down to Earth at the slightest fault.

I’m actually stoked about Keane returning. When I heard the news on Sky Sports I celebrated as if he just scored 5 goals against his former scum. (It would be a dream come true to beat Liverpool again when we play them. I can’t stand Benitez.) We’re not really in a position to complain about the past, as we need help climbing up the table and away from relegation. He is a Spurs player right now and thats all we should really be concerned with. Stop complaining about the past on move on. Besides we need the help.
As for Gio, I really wish he could do something for us but I think he needs a team where he can get more time on the field and he isn’t getting that at Spurs. Just not sure how he really fits into our current squad. If he does leave, he’ll be the one player I keep track of as I think he will be top class.

Regan, it’s not that easy, Keano said he wants to be at Spurs till he retires and that it’s his home. What does he do? Hand in a transfer request to Levy and request to move to the Scousers.
Like I said, when he scores I’ll be happy, but not because he scored but because Tottenham did.

I guess thats why I never hold an emotional attachment to players and the clubs. Players come and go all the time so you either play for the Spurs or you don’t. I was pretty pissed off about the Berbatov situation, only because of how he acted towards the end. Keane always put his heart into the games he played for us and thats important. Plus Liverpool is a club that he loved since a child and it was his dream to play for them. Who wouldn’t want that chance. Tell me you wouldn’t do the same thing.
