Hello Asia Trophy! And My take on the “Twitter Situation”
By: Drew | July 31st, 2009
So first off with victories over West Ham and Hull city Tottenham Hotspur have won the Asia Trophy. After streaming both games online, I am pleased to say that the boys have gradually got some fluidity together again.
Jermain Defoe’s strike against West Ham was all it took to get us to the final against Hull City. Robbie Keane scored two and Aaron Lennon capped off the game with a third goal, Which was enough to see Tottenham take the trophy home.

If you haven’t heard, our transfer bound Striker Darren Bent recently unleashed a scathing attack on the Spurs board about his frustration with how long it is taking to get his future sorted out. I understand his frustration, but really? Did he not think that people were gonna see it?
Or did he know exactly what he was doing? It could very well expedite the process now that Levy is probably offended at the comments that Darren made. Or it could lead to Levy making him suffer for as long as possible, with word that Aston Villa, Hull and Stoke are all interested, who’s to say that he can’t just prolong the suffering? All I’m trying to say is the ball is totally in Daniel Levy’s court. Darren did confirm that it was in fact actually his twitter page and recently released a statement apologizing for his actions.
I appreciate that transfers are seldom straightforward and are often complex. However, after a long period of waiting following my withdrawal from the plane to China, I had become incredibly frustrated by the time these things take and I posted inappropriate comments on my Twitter site.
I allowed my emotions to get in the way of my better judgment. I regret my actions and did not intend to offend Daniel Levy or anyone with the nature or the content of my posting.
There you have it, exactly what Spurs wanted him to say. We’ll see what happens with Darren in the next few days, and whether or not he gets what he wants.
Only two more friendlies till the season begins, this sunday and a week from then, Then it’s off to Liverpool for the opener. but unless anything else of note happens I’ll be posting on both games.
