Gio Won’t Be Needing Surgery! And A Question
By: Sam | November 11th, 2008
Phew. Giovani Dos Santos will not, repeat, will not undergo surgery for his ankle injury suffered in training last week. According to Spurs’ official website, he’ll be out for up to four weeks. I already miss watching him run Ronaldo-esquely into the box. (And no, that is not his ankle you see on the left.)
So, keeping in mind the injuries that are hampering us, such as Dos Santos, Bale, and (of course) King, and depth factors and such, here’s my question: Considering Harry Redknapp won’t have a ton of money to work with in the upcoming winter transfer window, where do you think he should be looking? What positions should be adressed? Any specific players that you think are realistic targets? All answers are welcome.
Also, tomorrow is Liverpool at the Lane, again. You can count on seeing the guys rested after the Zagreb match, aka Hutton, Dawson, Bale, Campbell, and I’m really keen on giving Bostock more playing time. Come on, it’s the bloody League Cup (did we win it or something last year?), let’s have him play at least the whole second half. I don’t think I’ll be able to catch it, for reasons of high school (don’t know about Max) , but him and I will try our very best to bring you an adequate match report. Until then, stick it to the man and COYS!

yeah wow the big transfer window question… My vote would be to get rid of Assou-Ekotto so we have a little more spending money. then i would say the last thing we need is more midfielders. i think we have good defenders as long as bale and king are both fit. my vote would be to get another striker. Arshavin might be a little much, but it would be nice to have both of russia’s strikers on the same team if we ever play a 4-4-2.

I wish we could sign Arshavin as Zenit is finally letting him go but since Redknapp is in charge now I doubt we will spend that kind of money on him; if he even wants him at all that is. I personally highly rate him having seen him not only at the Euro’s nor the UEFA Cup but also since one of my good friends is Russian and I have seen Zenit play on a numerous amount of occasions. He would sit behing Pav or Bent perfectly; he’s like a Robbie Keane, with 100 times more skill. Still hoping we can sign an adequite DM such as Appiah or Diarra and if we can get one plus Arshavin I will without a word of lie, go absolutely mental.

Nah, not going to be able to see it, unfortunately. I’m agreeing with Anthony here, the DM situation is by far the most pressing, we need a Diarra or Appiah (Michael Bradley?) to at least complement Corluka. Following that is an out and out striker (would love to get in Podolski) and then maybe a new CB. For the time being with Ledley’s health and Corluka filling in nicely, thankfully that’s less of an issue.
Arshavin is completely pointless, IMO.

Max this is my thing with Arshavin. He’s just a class act in general, he would compliment Bent or Pav beautifully. Take a look at this video and tell me if you change your mind.

Yeah, he’s class mate, I guarantee you if we had him even during the Ramos era we would be knocking in goals left right and centre. He’s a workoholic, he has bundles of energy and has vision like none other, he makes something out of nothing more times than not. Unfortunately I don’t think it is going to happen anymore

after the game with everton today…i think another attacking option would be a good investment of money. i’m gonna pray for arshavin or chamakh from bordeaux.
