Game Recap: Wigan 3-3 Tottenham Hotspur
By: Lucas | April 16th, 2007A series of good parts and bad parts to a game that left me feeling, well, nothing. Vague disappointment, maybe?
Good- We scored three goals, we haven’t gotten to that point in a while.
Bad: We let in three goals, against FUCKING WIGAN. They’d scored that many goals twice this season before this game.
Good: Jermaine Jenas played as good a game as I’ve seen him play, constantly attacking the box and keeping the ball on his feet for extended periods of time.
Bad: Is that really as good as Jermaine Jenas gets? Wasn’t he supposed to be a future England captain a couple of years ago? He’s a great athlete, and he can put the ball on net, but his set pieces are shambolic, and as far as creativity goes, well, shit. Shouldn’t an attacking midfielder be able to do more than either run straight at the net or stop in the middle of a strong move and pass backward? This is a position that will need to be addressed during the summer transfer window.
Good: Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane worked very well, and at times brilliantly together.
Bad: They were pretty much the only players who bothered to show up. Even Michael Dawson had a weak game, which never happens. Maybe, I don’t know, that fact that he’s played 53 of our 54 games this season has something to do with that. Maybe.
Good: We showed solid resolve to come back three times.
Bad: We had to come back three times against FUCKING WIGAN.
