Game Recap: Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Seville
By: Lucas | April 12th, 2007Well, it must be a tough night for Spurs. A bad loss, and they won’t be able to sit down for at least a couple of days after being sodomized by that ref. How many handballs in or around the box? How many times does Didier Zokora have to dive? Ugh.
To Seville’s credit, however, they beat us. Over three hours of football, we were definitively better for about twenty minutes. Sometimes that’s enough, but Seville had enough quality to keep us down, brutal calls aside.
I did love seeing King back, and it was very nice to see his confidence return as the game went on. It’ll be crucial for him to come up over the last several weeks of the season.
On the bright side, though, now we don’t have any worries about fixture pileups, and the numerous injuries aren’t as much of an issue now that we’re back to one game a week. We’re looking at requalifying for the UEFA Cup, and there’s a slim, very slim, chance at the Champions League. No Hampden for Spurs, but at least we went out like men.
