Game Recap: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Blackburn Rovers
By: Lucas | May 10th, 2007It’s not the result we wanted, necessarily, but it’ll do- one point being better than none, I’m told. Good work/bad work, as follows:
Good Work:
Dimitar Berbatov- I’ll just pencil him in at the top of this list as long as he’s playing for us, which will, hopefully be a while. (Fuck you, Manchester United, you can’t have him.) Excellent work as the focal point of the attack, holding up the ball brilliantly, and his one shot, of course, led to our goal.
Aaron Lennon- He’d been pretty quiet the last few games, but when we got him the ball, he attacked relentlessly, despite playing on his weaker left side. Why Jol would move him over to accommodate Hossam Ghaly is beyond me.
Anthony Gardner- It appears we may yet have a left-back. David Bentley, newly called up to the English “B” international team, was uncharacteristically quiet on the right side, as Gardner put out another solid performance. It surprises me, truth be told, every time I see him on the ball and he doesn’t fuck up, but I’ll take it, gladly.
Bad Work:
Hossam Ghali- You know you’re on television, you asshole? Show a little respect for your team. In regards to his play, a mediocre performance from a player who really adds nothing- a heavy touch on all his passes, and a listless performance defensively.
Again, not a great result, but not terrible. Manchester City to close out the season. COYS!
