England’s No. 3?
By: Richard | November 21st, 2007
Steve McClaren has decided to drop Paul Robinson on the eve of England’s game against Croatia in favor of Scott Carson…… Thank you Steve, you are doing Spurs fans everywhere a huge favor! Robinson’s club form over the past few weeks has been rather solid, especially when compared to his play over the previous year and a half when Robinson was terribly inconsistent, slowly eroding the confidence of England’s former No. 1.
From a national perspective I honestly don’t care. England is not the national side I follow. That being said, my only concern is how this will, or will not, impact Spurs. With Robinson being relived of his international duty one would hope he would now have 100% of his focus on Tottenham Hotspur. Face it, although we all love international play the effects of such events directly impact each club. Be it by injuries, form or confidence, good or bad. Now that the job of England’s starting goalkeeper has fallen to Scott Carson there is no risk of reversing the steps that may have been taken over the past month to restore Paul Robinson’s shaky form.
So once again: Thank you Mr. McClaren…..
So, what do you think Spurs fans? Is this good for the club? Let us know!
