Spurs Notes
By: Richard | December 18th, 2007
- I feel like Spurs finally, FINALLY, made a bit of a statement Saturday when they won at Fratton Park. With Zokora at Centre Back and a pretty potent Pompy team on the pitch, recent scoring woes aside, Spurs pressured the ball, made things difficult in the midfield and took all three points when Berbatov scored on a sweet cross from Lennon. The game could have easily ended 2-0 when Jermaine Defoe squandered an excellent opportunity just minutes after Berba put Spurs ahead.
- What a huge week. Spurs are at Eastlands to play Sven’s City in the Carling Cup quarter finals. A Narrow victory at the Lane a few days ago against this same team coupled with the win at Pompy should give Spurs some confidence going into today’s game. That being said, Spurs will need more then just confidence if they are to make it to the semi-finals. Manchester City have been in fine form at home making this one an up hill battle in every sense.
- North London Derby this Saturday!!! More to come on that later in the week. COYS!
