Return of the King!/Spurs Notes

Okay, I have quite few points that I want to make this morning. Let’s start off with today’s game v. Fulham.

Ledley King returns/ Spurs defeat Fulham 5-1 - Spurs throttled the Cottagers 5-1. But most importantly Ledley King has returned to Spurs starting eleven! Thank God! This is exactly what I asked Santa for! 73 minutes of football from Spurs captain is reason to celebrate, as is claiming another 3 points.

Spurs fall 2-1 to Gooners - Some defeats sting a bit more than others. This one was not one of them…. At least to me. It’s not like there are many football teams on the planet that go to the Emirates feeling they have a great chance of winning, but Spurs (these Juande Ramos Spurs that have me so damn excited!) went in and gave Arsenal everything they could handle. Though it pains me to say it, Le Arse are a class side. They play fantastic football, but I can’t help but feel that Juande is going to be the man to take Spurs to where they should be: right up with the “big four.” The results are coming and Spurs form is starting to look dangerous… Even to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Paul Robinson - Wow. The man has seen his form return and his excess fat jettison and it’s Spurs who have reaped the benefits! Robinson’s form over the last few months has went from bad to worse under Martin Jol, but since Juande Ramos has come to the club Robinson looks thinner around the waist and better in goal. Perhaps there is a little something to the diet Ramos has his players on after all?

Chris Gunter - The official site is reporting that Spurs have agreed to terms with Cardiff fullback Chris Gunter and will complete the signing when the transfer window opens next week. The 18 year-old Wales defender comes to Spurs for what is reported to be two million pounds. With fellow Wales defender Gareth Bale out for the near future Gunter could see first team action relatively soon. Should he take to Premiership football as well as Bale Spurs will be quite pleased.

Am I the only one who’s excited about this team? Let’s hear from you Spurs fans!! COYS!

Glad to see Spurs are at least attempting to live up to their potential.
