Portsmouth 2 Spurs 0 : Wake Me Up When We Remember How To Play

By: Sam | September 28th, 2008

Yes, the same Portsmouth who conceded ten times in the last two matches. So all’s done and done, so we’ve got two points from six matches. Only twelve behind Chelsea and Liverpool. Ah, the life of a Spurs fan.

So basically, I didn’t get to watch the game today as a result of my busy schedule, but I guess I didn’t miss much. A shaky backline to say the least with Dawson (who I’ve never been excessively keen on) and Woodgate in the middle and Corluka (thumbs up) and Assou-Ekotto (thumbs slightly less up) on the flanks. However I have to scratch my head at the midfield, to say the least: What the fuck is Giovani doing on the bench, after what he showed against Newcastle? Especially since he came on for Zokora to add offense on 57 minutes, but all along Juande should have known it would have been more beneficial to have Dos Santos on the pitch. Pav also played 73 minutes.

So, looks like there’s not much for me to say. Premier League match report is here, Spurs one is here.

Next fixture is the second leg against Wisla on Thursday. Let’s not fuck it up! Always keep it real readers, COYS and see ya later.

Attendance: 20,352 at Fratton Park
Goals: Defoe (PK) 33, Crouch 68
Spurs: Gomes – Corluka, Dawson, Woodgate, Assou-Ekotto – Bentley, Jenas, Zokora (Giovani 57), O’Hara, Gilberto (Lennon 45) – Pavlyuchenko (Bent 73)
Portsmouth: James – Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Belhadj – Little (Utaka 61), Hughes, Diarra, Traore – Crouch, Defoe (Kaboul 89)

everyone has to remember ramos is a cup coach he was never that awesome in the league but this is really really bad hahaha .. I think the 4-5-1 is terrible and def not working eathier!! He was looking past this game and to the cup tie they have this week and that was a big mistake because we now have no momentum going in and where is the real david bentley???

Not bad, we have to have Gio and Pav up front and leave them there until they figure things out (which shouldn’t be long anyhow)

Heartbreaking loss, but there’s still much time to get back into the groove. I just hope Ramos doesn’t get the sack, it doesn’t seem like it’s his mostly his fault.

The goals Spurs have been conceding, and ipso facto losing because of, have been in large part because of defensive blunders and such, nothing Ramos can do about them. He’s lining up formations that have lots of potential, all the time. Spurs will never drop him.
