Spurs Improve Under Juande
By: Richard | January 29th, 2008So I was waiting to write my next blog about the official signing of Alan Hutton (still haven’t seen him in a white shirt even though Gers site is reporting it to be a done deal) or even the game tomorrow v. the Toffees at Goodison. But my mind got to wondering and I asked myself ‘if I looked at wins and loses, how well have Spurs played under Juande Ramos?’
So I did some quick calculations. Juande’s first game as gaffer was on October 31st v. Blackpool in the League Cup. 22 games later we’ve seen 12 wins, 5 draws and 5 loses. Now this is where I start to stretch things a bit (and yeah, I’m aware that this is all rubbish, but what the hell) but if those wins, loses and draws were calculated as points in a normal league format it would come to 41. Now I’m really pushing it here but if we had 41 points in 22 games, right now, when most teams have played around 23 games, we would sit tied for 5th with Villa, one point out of a Champions League spot with a game in hand.
Does this mean anything? No, not really. But it’s reason to be optimistic and reason to believe that Juande Ramos has, if nothing else, made a positive short term impact. Let’s just hope that the long term brings more of the same! COYS!

Hearing also that Gilberto as well as Hutton are done
Even rumor that there is a last second swoop for an Argentine player who is not named.
