Captain King Done for Season

Spurs have decided to sit down their captain for the rest of the season. According to their official site King will forgo the final six fixtures of the campaign in order to further rehabilitate his knee, an injury that held him to only ten appearances during the current season.

“My knee is actually feeling good at the moment and there is no inflammation, but we have to look at the bigger picture and accept that this is an ideal point in time to recover further, get best advice and make sure that I come back fitter,” said King on tottenhamhotspur.com.

“They are six games I could well have taken part in, but we all believe this is worth doing for the longer term benefit.”

Should the extra rehab, as well as the summer break, be enough to get King back on the pitch in a regular role during the 08/09 season we would look pretty solid at the back.

Good luck Ledders! It’s time that these injuries are left in the past so Spurs fans can see you play week in, week out! COYS!

Thank goodness… this weekend we played SO much better!!! But… should have had a couple more hit the back of the net.
Is there anyplace (on at least one Spurs site) we can vote for this weeks ‘Man of the Match’?? My Vote is for STEED MALBRONQUE… he never quits. I hope we don’t lose Lennon also… SO much promise… i think some of them are showing a few nerves right now.. ‘under the New Regime’ I love Berba! Wish Darren Bent could get settled in… i liked it when Juande played all 3… Berb, Keane and Bent… but realize it won’t work all the time. Love Alan Hutton… great addition! and I missed Jamie O’Hara… he works great too. Come on Spurs Let’s WIN the next one.

Jan, I had to miss this past weekends game. I was at a bachelor party all weekend… my body is still paying for it… Anyway, I’m glad to hear that they played with a bit more inspiration Saturday. It’s a good result I think.

I really hope the Lennon rumors are just that. Sure, his season has been without many high points but he’s still so young.

I think Bent has a hard time fitting in the squad as it is just due to the lack of service our forwards get from the midfield. Berba and Robbie both help link up play so they really hide the lack of passing from the rest of the squad. Bent can expose defenses more effectively if he gets the passes to work with. We’ll see how he looks next year. Hasn’t been a good signing at this point but that doesn’t mean he can’t become one in the future.

    Thanks for reading! COYS!

This is the fortieth time this has happened since I’ve become a Spurs fan, so it’s shitty, but I’ve come to expect him to get hurt a few dozen times a season.
